EXPLORE UJUNG KULON NATIONAL PARK

Located in the extreme south-western tip of Java on the Sunda shelf.  Ujung Kulon National Park is the oldest national park in Indonesia. Declared by UNESCO in 1991 as one of the world heritage sites. The largest remaining area of lowland rainforests in Java plain.

In- situ conservation of 700 plants with 57 species rare plants have ever recorded, 35 mammals including Javan Rhino, Banteng, Sumateran Dhole and Java Leopard, 5 primate, 270 avifauna, 59 reptile, 22 amphibi, 72 insects, 142 fishes & 33 coral reef.

Provided invaluable habitat critical for the survival of a number of threatened plants and animals species, most notably the endangered Javan Rhino (Rhinoceros sondaicus).  The Javan Rhino is not known to occur in the wild anywhere else on earth and Ujung Kulon believes to sustain the last viable natural population, estimated at approximately 60 individuals.
